The Four Cow Farm Calendula Remedy is a very rich Emollient (i.e. it softens and literally moisturises the skin) whilst the Nappy Balm is an Occlusive which has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties (it protects the skin whilst lending it active agents which help fight infection). Using either or a combination of both is great, the best thing to do is to have a look at the condition of the skin and see what it needs - more moisture? Or something to prevent moisture from escaping? Or both? If the last, then yes, Calendula Remedy (giving it some time to be absorbed), followed by the Nappy Balm would be great. Hope that helps! ~ Delphinia, Four Cow Farm</span></span></span></p>

Description

Four Cow Farm Nappy Balm

A 100% natural barrier balm made from Beeswax and Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Castor and Macadamia Oils, with the natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of Organic Tea Tree Pure Essential Oil. Castor Oil is chosen for its anti-inflammatory actions and Macadamia Oil for its rich, moisturising properties. Perfect for soothing inflamed or itchy skin. Wonderful for calming nappy rash, and as an emergency balm for those everyday cuts, scrapes and bruises (keep one in the bag for those little accidents!). For skin that isn't prone to nappy rash and requires only gentle daily protection and moisturising, we recommend Four Cow Farm Nappy Cream.

Purpose & Directions

Excellent as an effective emollient for nappy rash or as an everyday nappy balm or emergency balm for temporary relief from minor scrapes, and bruises. Apply a thin layer to clean skin and folds at each nappy change, or to area requiring relief.

Ingredients

Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, beeswax, cetearyl alcohol (veg. fatty alcohol), certified organic melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) pure essential oil, rosemarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract.

‎3 Types of Moisturisers:

Moisturisers have three functions:

1. As Emollients (they penetrate the skin and help soften it),

2. As Occlusives (they form a barrier on the skin and prevent moisture from escaping)

3. As Humectants (they attract water from the surrounding atmosphere onto the skin).

Depending on the ingredients which make up the moisturiser/lotion you're using, it can have a any or all of the three functions. ~ Delphinia, Four Cow Farm
